The Challenges of Starting a Business

Starting a business is never easy, and my journey with Segura’s Crafts has been no exception. When I first set out to create this company, I had a clear vision: a brand that not only offered crafting supplies but also served as a space for healing, mindfulness, and self-expression. However, the road to launching has been anything but smooth.

One of the most significant setbacks I faced was dealing with web development issues. I initially trusted a developer to bring my vision to life, only to encounter a series of obstacles that ultimately led to my website being shut down. Imagine pouring your time, effort, and resources into something only for it to crumble before your eyes. That moment was beyond frustrating. The financial impact of needing to rebuild from scratch was devastating, forcing me to reevaluate my launch plans and push back my original release date.

Beyond the website, financial strain began to weigh heavily on my business plans. I had ambitious goals—to release multiple products each month, introduce exciting new collections, and support a full design team. But reality hit hard: I had to scale back. The number of products I wanted to release monthly had to be reduced, and, unfortunately, I faced the difficult decision of potentially letting go of some of my design team members due to budget constraints. To add to the challenges, my plans to manufacture dies had to be postponed, pushing back release dates even further.

It was a period filled with uncertainty and frustration, but despite these setbacks, I knew I had to find a way to move forward.

Changing my perception

After the setbacks, I found a web developer who not only delivered but exceeded my expectations. In just two weeks, he transformed my site, making essential adjustments and giving it a polished look. For the first time, I felt truly confident in my online presence. Scaling back to two product releases a month became a blessing in disguise, allowing me to focus on quality, engage my customers, and grow at a manageable pace.

This journey has taught me that setbacks don’t define success—how you rise from them does. “Every delay carries a lesson, and every challenge shapes a stronger vision.” Segura’s Crafts is moving forward, and I can’t wait to share this next chapter with you!
